The article I read stated that some search engines do not follow comments in certain blogs but the owners can install a plug in that allows the search engines to follow the comments and therefore index the comments and the associated hyperlinks in them as backlinks to your blog.

The author provided a list of PR3-PR6 blogs and in the comments of the post, a few other blogs are mentioned as well.

http://sta.rtup.biz/forum/topics/2084667:Topic:414

Here is more info about Do Follow...
http://www.dofollow.us/Brian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-20709891368042807142008-11-30T16:47:00.000-08:002008-11-30T17:18:13.771-08:00MyBlogLog & Snapvine & Review...MyBlogLog

I have found MyBlogLog to be an interesting blogging community. I now run several blogs here on blogger as I have divided my interests out into several blogs instead of trying to post everything into one blog. I really like how MyBlogLog puts its web gadget together and includes many things like links to popular social networking sites (which it calls 'services'), a bio, a picture, and a way to track followers. If you are technically inclined and put in a small piece of html code into your actual blog template, you can also get blog statistics through their service.

Snapvine

Snapvine allows you to create voice related gadgets for your website. You can set up voice comments, a voice blog, and an outgoing voice message. I used an outgoing voice message on one of my capture pages.

Review of a fellow blogger's article on Twitter

I recently wrote an article about Twitter and Twellow, and have since then discovered another interesting article on Twitter. I enjoy the ideas for using Twitter that the author has presented. In about 24 hours since posting my post, I've gained another 10 followers going up to 37 followers now on Twitter, without any further promotion besides setting up my initial Twellow post. Something is working!

Squidoo Update

Last week I worked hard on a new Squidoo lens about a Christian Musician named Mandisa. That lens has become my highest ranked lens to date. I started some other lens that are not yet complete, and also have a list of other new ideas. I am really excited about this adventure allowing me to use some of my writing and creative skills and hopefully getting some new notoriety on the web. I'm posting an update on my current rankings on finished lens. Only one of my lens dropped ranking and that lens, I did not work on in the past month. I'm abreviating the lens names here, for full details, please visit my lensmaster profile.

Lens Name

Oct Rank

Nov Rank

MH

N/A

57,520

BAHB

112,138

72,748

TTAMN

133,972

120,306

WFLNS

121,648

120,306

OSA

N/A

153,484

Brian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-54569090900576939902008-11-25T21:05:00.000-08:002008-11-25T21:09:01.867-08:00Mandisa - From American Idol To Instant FameBecause Mandisa has touched my life so much, I have made a website to tell the story of how I came to know about her. I've also listed a favorite song and youtube video voting system; a feed reader that posts recent news articles about her and a link to her myspace page. At this time, I have crafted three different lenses.

My highest ranked lens thus far is Brian's Awesome Home Businesses (BAHB), with a current ranking of 112,138. With this lens, I am going to promote the businesses I am currently active. My other lenses are Whole Food Liquid Nutritional Supplements (WFLNS) and The Truth About Mineral Nutrition (TTAMN). With WFLNS, I am going to showcase many different liquid products in the industry, some of which I promote as well as some of which I do not promote. I am also going to have a voting system where people can come by and vote on which products are their favorite. This lens is an experiment into an idea where I talk about my knowledge of this topic, but not only address the products I sell but others in the industry as well in efforts to build a more general audience to my writing. With TTAMN I aim to share my knowledge of angstrom sized water soluble minerals.

Current Squidoo Rankings:
BAHB 112,138
WFLNS 121,648
TTAMN 133,972

I plan to launch many more lenses in the near future. Hopefully some day I will be classified as a "Giant Squid" which is an elite classification among the community.

Brian LatheBrian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-1149666068064990742006-06-07T00:36:00.000-07:002006-11-08T11:54:11.420-08:00Randi Rhodes and Dennis PragerTo Randi Rhodes: Dr. Dennis Prager has announced on his radio show that he would love to agree to either or both of these scenarios:

1.) An interview aired on the radio directly between the two of you where you debate the morality of any single issue.
2.) An agreement where you host one hour of Dr. Dennis Prager's show to his audience and where he hosts one our of the Randi Rhodes show to your audience. During that hour both of you take callers from the audience and interact with them.

So what say ye Randi Rhodes?Brian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-1149665184405253622006-06-07T00:08:00.000-07:002007-01-06T20:58:28.046-08:00Marriage Protection AmendmentDefining marriage as one man and one woman is NOT discrimination. To say it is, is to show that you do not know or understand the meaning of discrimination. Right now, two individuals cannot enter into marriage without abiding by a few rules, which may vary depending on your specific state. For example, you must prove or attest that you are not related and that you do not have certain sexually transmitted diseases.

Marriage is much more than just a state issued liscense. The "intent" of this lisence is that it is not to expire. You do not need to re-certify or renew your marriage liscense. There are no ways that the state can come in and revoke or cancel your marriage. Every other state issued liscense you purchase has specific expiry limits and also conditions on which the state may revoke or cancel the liscense. I could explain other differences, but argument on the basis of a marriage just being a simple state issued liscense is an extremely weak on and shows you do not truly understand or appreciate the true meaning of marriage.

Marriage should not be issued simply on the basis of your sexual preference or who you love. I love my mom. Should I be allowed to marry her? I love my dog. Should I be allowed to marry her? Should I be allowed to marry two or more women?

The issue is also not specific to a religion. I only know of one religion that approves of a marriage between 2 members of the same sex. Which religion is that? Atheism. All other religions, that I am aware, share a unity in the morality of marriage being between man and woman (some allow poligamy) and most share a belief that same gender sex is undesirable. There is nothing PROGRESSIVE about having a belief that same gender relationships are acceptable, much less wanting to redefining concepts of marriage and the true meaning of a family. Beliefs such as this simply show that you stand against the grain of all major world religions, many of which have a several thousand year track record of holding these beliefs.

The voting record of 19 states has shown a majority interest in defining marriage as one man and one woman. Some states are in the 70%.Brian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-1138078348911051172006-01-23T20:45:00.000-08:002006-05-17T03:20:57.553-07:00Eniva Daytona Beach Conference RecapThe Eniva Daytona Beach Conference was an exciting time for all. This affected a close friend of mine. He took a severance package knowing that if he had kept his job, he might not have a guaranteed chance of being able to keep it. As it has played out, the mechanics are now on strike. Fortunately, I have good news! I disagree with Snopes.com for the first time! When people send me emails, I generally check Snopes.com or UrbanLegends.com to verify whether they are true or false. I recently received an email from a friend similar to the one found at Snopes.com, I could not find comment on this topic on UrbanLegends.com.

Snopes.com usually does a good job of showing whether a passed email is true or false. However, in this case, they go on to discussing more about Islam and even go on to point of showing the same piece written with an anti-Christian viewpoint, by taking specific Bible verses way out of context. This is wrong.

While I have not seen any popular Christian leader condone the killing of anyone, we have many cases in recent history of Islamic Imam's condoning the killing of non-Muslims.Brian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-1123468078514905652005-08-07T19:27:00.000-07:002005-08-07T19:56:01.643-07:00Senator Bill Frist and Federal Funding of Stem Cell Research
Tennessee Senator Bill Frist is the Senator Majority Leader. Along with being a Republican politician, he is also a transplant surgeon. On August 1st, Mr. Frist stated he is for federal funding of stem cells, a stand that separates himself from President George W. Bush.

I personally am against federal funding of stem cell research for two reasons. Let me be extra clear on something. I am not against stem cell research. Neither is President George W. Bush and many other conservatives. There is a huge difference between stem cell research and federal funding of stem cell research.

Reason number one is a basic idea of why should the government solve all of society's problems? The government was designed to serve certain purposes. Why do we keep adding purposes to this list? Stem cell research can be done without federal funding. If you like stem cell research, find a way to fund it yourself. Do not ask the government to do it for you. Also, why should the U.S. government fund something that may only bring huge profits to the private sector some day.

Reason number two is a personal belief I have related to health and the treatment of disease. In choosing a controversial topic for my Ethics paper, I chose to write on the topic of Stem Cell Research. I had to discuss the pros and cons of the research and provide positive ways to continue the debate. The goal of the paper was not to talk about my thoughts alone, but to provide an objective look at both sides. I am for stem cell research. I believe we may find some very interesting things in studying them. Let's assume we can cure a variety of diseases through new technologies created through stem cell research. That would be a wonderfully great thing. I believe, however, in agreement with Dr. Linus Pauling and others, that diseases are a result of nutritional deficiencies. Therefore, you may replace an organ, but if the underlying cause of the issue continues, the replaced organ may also become susceptible to the same disease as the original organ. I believe first and foremost, everyone should take responsibility for their own health.

Thanks,
Brian LatheBrian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8790579.post-1122894356371785342005-08-01T03:35:00.000-07:002005-08-01T04:05:56.380-07:00Laura Ingraham and the "Man Hug"On a recent Laura Ingraham radio show, she talked about a concept called a "Man Hug". She introduced the topic stating a trend in current culture, that men are hugging more and more. She then asked callers to call in to the show to share in the discussion. She stated several times in requesting callers that she meant hugs between men other than family, which she often stated is "very cool".

Several men said they would never hug another man, for no reason whatsoever. One of her male co-hosts shared in that sentiment. Other callers stated that a hug between men is a common Christian greeting. Callers stated that men in other social circles also commonly used hugs in greetings.

Starting out with a negative tone toward the "Man Hug", Laura concluded that hugs between men are quite common.

All my life I have seen women hug each other. I personally do not have any problem with men who hug. I think a hug is a respectable behavior to display, even in public. And I believe everyone should participate. I do not think hugging is a display of homosexuality. Now if any public affection gets carried away, I think it is distasteful, even if it is being displayed by a married couple.

If a man feels uncomfortable in hugging another man, I do not have a problem with that. I'm not going to say that I feel I should hug every time I greet another man. Just as with anyone who may hug in a greeting, it is something you do with family, close friends. I'm also not so worried about my hugs, I'm not worried if I pat him twice or three times ("I'm not gay"), a hug is a hug, do it naturally.

For example, as I was introduced as a National Director at the "Come Alive in 2005" Eniva conference on Saturday, June 25th, and came down the runway under flags waving with cheers, applauds, handshakes, and hi fives, at the end Randy Allen and Bob Worman stood and I hugged them both before taking the stage. At the same event, many of us, male and female, hugged Dr. Benjamin and Andrew Baechler as we were recognized to take the stage for various awards. I would say the reason for these hugs fell among the close friends qualifier I stated above.

Thanks,
Brian LatheBrian Lathe (952) 261-1052http://www.blogger.com/profile/07051181546486320405noreply@blogger.com0
